Learning Through Experience

Our events bring financial modeling concepts to life. We run workshops, case study sessions, and hands-on practicals throughout the year. Whether you're building your first DCF model or exploring advanced scenario planning, these sessions help analysts work through actual problems with guidance from people who've been there.

Which Event Makes Sense for You?

We know choosing the right session can feel a bit overwhelming. Our events span different skill levels and focus areas. If you're brand new to financial modeling, our foundation workshops in September 2025 cover the basics without assuming prior knowledge. You'll work through income statements, balance sheets, and simple projections.

For those already comfortable with fundamentals, our October and November sessions dive into valuation techniques. We spend time on DCF models, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions. These workshops suit analysts who need to value companies or assets as part of their role.

If you work with property portfolios, our December sessions focus specifically on real estate modeling. We cover rental income projections, development appraisals, and investment returns. It's practical stuff that applies directly to property analysis.

And for anyone interested in automation or handling larger datasets, our early 2026 Python workshops show how to bring programming into your workflow. No previous coding experience needed, but you should be solid with Excel first.

What's Coming Up

We run events throughout the year. Most sessions happen in the evening or on weekends to fit around work schedules. Here's what we have lined up for the next few months.

14 September 2025

Financial Statements Bootcamp

A Saturday morning session covering how to read and interpret financial statements. We work through real company reports and build simple models to link the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement. Suitable for anyone new to financial analysis.

3 October 2025

Building Your First DCF Model

An evening workshop that walks through discounted cash flow valuation step by step. We build a model from scratch, covering revenue projections, working capital, terminal value, and WACC calculations. Expect to leave with a working template you can adapt.

19 November 2025

M&A Case Study Session

We take a real acquisition scenario and work through the analysis together. Topics include synergy modeling, accretion/dilution, and deal structure. This one suits analysts who already know their way around valuation basics and want to tackle more complex situations.

7 December 2025

Real Estate Development Models

A full-day session focused on property development appraisals. We cover construction costs, phasing, presales, and calculating developer profit. Particularly useful if you work with residential or commercial development projects.

Event Categories

We organize sessions into different tracks depending on what you're trying to learn. Most people find it helpful to start with foundations before moving into specialized areas.

F

Foundation Skills

These sessions cover core concepts like financial statements, basic Excel techniques, and understanding how businesses make money. Good starting points if you're early in your finance career or switching from another field.

V

Valuation Methods

Workshops focused on putting values on companies and assets. We cover DCF models, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and how to think about different valuation situations. Best suited for analysts who need to value businesses regularly.

R

Real Estate Focus

Property-specific modeling techniques including development appraisals, investment analysis, and portfolio management. These sessions suit analysts working with property funds, development companies, or real estate investment teams.

A

Advanced Techniques

Sessions covering more specialized topics like M&A modeling, LBO analysis, credit modeling, and scenario planning. These assume you're already comfortable with financial modeling fundamentals and want to handle more complex situations.

T

Technical Skills

Workshops on tools and automation including advanced Excel, VBA macros, Python programming, and database connections. These help you work more efficiently and handle larger datasets without getting bogged down in manual processes.

C

Case Studies

Sessions where we work through real business situations together. You get to tackle actual problems, discuss approaches with other analysts, and see how theory applies in practice. Often the most valuable learning happens in these discussions.

Who Runs These Sessions

Our workshops are led by analysts who've worked in investment banking, private equity, and corporate finance. They know what actually matters when you're building models under time pressure, and they're pretty good at explaining things without the jargon overload. Here are a couple of the people you might meet at our events.

Financial modeling instructor reviewing valuation frameworks

Eliška Novotná

Valuation Specialist

Eliška spent eight years in M&A advisory before joining us. She's particularly good at breaking down complex valuation concepts and has a knack for spotting the subtle modeling errors that can throw off your entire analysis. She leads most of our DCF and comparable company workshops.
